Finding the mental health, social services, or behavioral health-related school support for your child or teen can be overwhelming and challenging. This is why Edgewood Center has launched A Place to Begin as the first step to help youth and their families get the support they need to thrive.

HOW WE CAN HELP

A Place to Begin can serve as a resource if you’ve been seeking answers to questions online but cannot find a clear direction. A Place to Begin is here for you when:

  • Your child or teen is struggling with their mental or behavioral health, and you are not sure where to find support
  • You have had challenges locating a therapist for your youth
  • You have questions about what options are available to cover the costs of the support your child needs
  • You are unclear if your child needs help or what questions to ask

Edgewood Center’s A Place to Begin is where you can ask those or other questions. We are here to help you learn about options, how to discuss your child’s concerns, and how to find the resources so they may experience a life filled with understanding, confidence, strength, and joy.

With decades of experience providing a full continuum of behavioral and mental health services in the Bay Area, Edgewood Center has unique expertise supporting youth and family wellness.  Our A Place to Begin service is here to:

  • Answer questions about best options available within our services
  • Offer resources that best match the needs of your child or teen
  • Help you explore the best options for payment

A Place to Begin is not intended to be an alternative to therapy or direct mental health counseling.  It serves as the first point for discussing the best options in support of child’s  wellness.  A Place to Begin is not a crisis line or warm line. If you or your child urgently need crisis stabilization, please call Edgewood Center’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) main line, available 24/7 at 415-682-3278 or 911.
