The Grace Magill Fund

A legacy of compassion that transforms lives

The Grace Magill Fund

The Grace Magill Fund carries forward Edgewood’s mission to provide meaningful mental health care to young people. For two decades, the fund has ignited hope and healing by supporting Edgewood programming.

Grace Caldwell Magill’s story began right here at Edgewood. Her mother, Anne Magill, was board president of Edgewood and Grace was acquainted with the organization from an early age. At just ten years old, she donated her entire life savings—fourteen dollars—to help other children in need. By twelve, she was volunteering her time, tutoring, and showing others what it meant to lead with compassion. Grace once shared, “The most satisfying thing about donating is that it is helping to enrich someone else’s life.” To her, Edgewood felt like home—a safe place where every child could heal, learn, and belong.

What started as a child’s heartfelt act of generosity grew into a powerful legacy: the Grace Magill Fund. Though Grace’s life was tragically cut short, her spirit continues to shine through every program it supports. Over the years, community generosity has allowed the fund to expand beyond its origins in Acute Intensive Services, touching just about every part of Edgewood. Today, it fuels therapeutic arts, mindfulness, education, and family support—programs that empower youth facing complex mental health challenges to rebuild their lives, recover their sense of self, and thrive in their communities.

We invite you to join us in building on Grace’s legacy. Every dollar raised for the fund multiplies its impact and extends hope to even more young people. By donating, you can help ensure the light Grace sparked twenty years ago continues to shine bright—showing young people a way forward toward hope and healing.
