The initiative will provide increased access, training for future providers, and create a welcoming space for healing and wellbeing for youth and families in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Campaign Purpose and Vision

Edgewood is launching an ambitious expansion to address the severe mental health crisis facing youth, with a focus on compassionate, comprehensive outreach for families who need support most. By investing in this campaign, donors help create pathways to care, especially for children who might not otherwise be able to access treatment due to insurance or financial barriers.

Why Mental Health Matters

The campaign spotlights urgent statistics: over 60% of children needing clinical mental health care do not receive it, and rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide among youth are alarmingly high. Early intervention can change lives, as half of adult mental health disorders begin before age 14, shaping social, emotional, and physical health.

Core Goals

Serve 250 More Families Each Year
The expansion will allow Edgewood to help hundreds more children access vital therapy and counseling, regardless of their financial or insurance status.

Increase Access for All
A dedicated Access Fund will provide sliding-scale financial assistance for families not covered by public insurance or who face high out-of-pocket costs.

Train More Providers
The program will expand accredited clinical training for pre- and post-doctoral psychologists, filling a critical gap in mental health professional availability.

Renovate Pine Cottage
Transforming an outdated building into a warm, modern clinical center will maximize comfort and care, while aligning with best practices for healing environments.
