Transforming Spaces, Transforming Lives: Beautification Day at Edgewood

Volunteers from across the Bay Area come together to support youth mental health

On February 4th and 5th, Edgewood welcomed more than 60 volunteers from across the San Francisco Bay Area for a special Beautification Day. Brought together by Ashley, SiriusXM, Pandora, Noah Kahan’s the Busyhead Project, and Give To Get during Super Bowl Week, volunteers supported the city’s oldest nonprofit as we approach our 175th anniversary. They painted our Rec Room and sanded and stained benches and picnic tables, helping ensure our spaces feel warm and welcoming for both staff and clients.

The Recreation Room is a vital space where clients come to decompress, play pool (now on a newly leveled table!), and use the computer, while our outdoor furniture across campus offers places for lunch, quiet reflection, and conversation among friends.

Each volunteer received a ticket to Noah Kahan’s concert, but many left with something even more meaningful: new connections and a deeper appreciation for the power of community coming together in support of youth mental health.

We are incredibly grateful to all the volunteers and partner organizations that helped coordinate this effort, the transformation would not have been possible without them and is one of many beautification days we plan to host this year. Community coming together to care for one another is at the heart of Edgewood.

Make a Difference!

Now more than ever, Edgewood needs your support! Please consider making a donation today to support the critical mental healthcare, wraparound support, and community service needs of our youth, young adults, and families.
